Charged with felony harassment after his friend claimed he held a gun to her head and threatened to kill her. Case was set for trial. Interviews of the alleged victim revealed several inconsistencies in her story. After interviewing an additional witness who also created problems for the State’s case, the prosecutor agreed to dismiss the case.

Client charged with three felonies: Assault 3rd degree domestic violence, Robbery 2nd degree domestic violence and Unlawful imprisonment domestic violence. Client maintained his innocence from the start, and after his initial review of the evidence, attorney found some substantial issues with the alleged victim’s allegations. After hiring a private investigator, it was determined that the alleged victim had a long history of committing acts of domestic violence on her partners and lying about it. Attorney presented the findings to the prosecutor who dismissed all charges.

The client had been convicted of child molestation in the first degree as an adult for a crime committed as a juvenile nearly 30 years ago. Successfully petitioned to terminate the client’s sex offender registration over the state’s and victim’s objections.

The client was charged with Child Molestation 1st Degree. If convicted, he faced 51-68 months to life in prison, lifetime community custody and lifetime sex offender registration. He was charged in 2019 and the charges have now been dismissed.
